Mark Johnson changes young lives through his work with the United Way of Buffalo and
Erie County. As a Community Investment Manager Mark oversees corporate and community
representatives, although his position as the United Way youth liaison is what brings him
in contact with numerous New Yorkers.
Mark staffs the United Way Youth Council and the Western New York Delegation to the
Presidents Summit Youth Committee. That responsibility involves convening youth
representatives from diverse demographic areas in Western New York. He assists in defining
community needs critical to youth, investment of youth generated funds and the planning
and implementation of community service projects.
On Long Island, Mark co-founded the 3-Degrees Organization. This group provides young
people with development training and community recognition. He also founded the
Always Positive, Never Negative Award, which is based both on Long Island and
Buffalo.
This 1994 Canisius College graduate serves on the colleges Alumni Board and
Center for Entrepreneurship Training Program.
Business First has recognized Marks dedication by honoring him with the
Pathfinders Award and 40 under 40 Award.
Mark also had the privilege of acting as a presenter at Princeton Universitys
Foundation for Communication International Conference.
