Sandy Bloch has dedicated his life to serving others. This 83 year-old retiree enjoys his
weekly volunteer activities, which have included delivering Meals on Wheels for the Jewish
Family Service, reading on the radio for the blind and working in the offices of the Lupus
Association and Muscular Dystrophy. Sandy contributes time and energy to the Amherst
Senior Citizens Center, where he directed a fund-raising campaign as a past member of the
Board.
When Sandy moved to Buffalo with his family in 1956 he joined the Service
Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE). SCORE assists retired entrepreneurs with starting up
new businesses. Sandy counseled their clients for 15 years as a volunteer. He has also
worked as a volunteer arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau and assisted seniors with
income taxes.
Sandy, the father of one daughter, now resides in Amherst with his wife, Ruth.
