Josephine P. Bargnes loves the library. As President of the
Amherst Public Library Board of Trustees, this forever young and active retiree worked
with the Board to construct and expand the Amherst Main Library at Audubon.
She is founder and first President of the Association of Contracting Libraries and
currently serves on the Liaison Committee and the New York State Association of Library
Boards.
Known affectionately as Jobar to family and friends, she may be found
storytelling at Clearfield Library, editing the next newsletter of Millard Fillmore
Hospitals Womens Board where she serves on the Operating Board, or helping out
her four grown children with their kids.
A world traveler, Jo enjoys frequent trips to far away lands like Italy or Russia.
While her schedule keeps her busy, she doesnt let it interfere with what she
loves most. Having ten grandchildren, eight of whom are grandsons, assures me that I
am apt to be needed somewhere at a moments notice, she explains. They
are the light of my life.
