David straitiff, President and CEO of Syrinex Communications in Buffalo, is on the fast track in business and on the waters of Lake Erie.

The proud owner of “Foot Forward,” a 25-foot racing sailboat, David enjoys time away from the office racing competitively in the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club. He’s also an active member of the Buffalo Yacht Club, where his 5 year-old son Joshua likes accompanying him on Foot Forward.

Back on land, David’s company Syrinex, which he founded in 1996, manufactures Internet communications equipment. Prior to Syrinex, David served as Executive Vice President from 1989 to 1995 for the Amherst-based company he founded—Voice Technologies Group.

Currently David serves as Chairman of InfoTech Niagara, a non-profit trade association he co-founded that promotes the growth of information technology related companies in the Buffalo Niagara region. He also chairs the Tech & Info task force for a State of the Region project for the UB Institute for Local Government and Regional Growth. As a board member of the Atlantic Corridor David works to promote trade between Western New York and Ireland.

This UB grad certainly is on the fast track.
